The best Apple AirTag accessories for 2025

Apple’s AirTag is a small tracker that helps you monitor your essentials from keys and wallets to luggage and backpacks. To make the most of it, you’ll want the right accessories to keep it secure and easy to attach. The best AirTag accessories protect your tracker, add style and make it easier to fit it into your daily routine. There’s a wide range of options depending on how you use your AirTag. Some holders are slim enough to slip into a wallet while others are rugged enough to clip onto a bike or a pet collar. You can find leather key rings that match your Apple gear, silicone loops for gym bags and hard cases that stand up to travel or outdoor use. Many come in different colors and finishes so you can match them to your style while keeping your items easy to find. From minimalist inserts to heavy-duty mounts, these AirTag accessories combine form and function to keep your tracker protected and your belongings within reach. Best AirTag holders for 2025 AirTag holder FAQs Why do AirTags need a holder? AirTags need a holder because they do not have built-in keyring holes like Tile, Chipolo and other Bluetooth trackers do. How do you attach an AirTag to things? You'll need a holder or case to attach an AirTag to your stuff. If you're comfortable slipping an AirTag into an interior pocket of a bag or coat, you can do so without an extra accessory. But if you want to use one to keep track of your keys, wallet, backpack or even your pet on their collar, you'll need an accessory that can accommodate that use case. Do AirTag holders affect tracking performance? No, AirTag holders should not affect tracking performance. Do AirTag holders protect against scratches and impacts? Yes, AirTag holders can protect against scratches and impacts. Many AirTag cases encircle the edge of the tracker only, leave the two disk sides exposed. For the most protection, look for an AirTag holder than goes around the entire Bluetooth tracker like a sleeve. This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/computing/accessories/best-apple-airtag-cases-holders-accessories-123036404.html?src=rss

Why Google is really warning 2.5 billion Gmail users to stop using their passwords

You may have seen warnings that Google is telling all of its users to change their Gmail passwords due to a breach. That’s only partly true. Google is telling users to change their passwords, but not because of a breach that exposed them. In fact, Google’s real advice is to stop using your password altogether. Here’s what I mean. The breach traces back to Salesforce, whose systems were compromised by the hacker group known as ShinyHunters (also tracked as UNC6040). Attackers obtained business-related Gmail data, including contact lists, company associations, and email metadata. No actual Gmail account credentials were stolen, but the nature of the stolen data makes phishing and impersonation attacks far more dangerous.Google confirmed the link between the Salesforce breach and a rise in targeted phishing campaigns and said attackers are already impersonating Google, IT departments, or trusted vendors to trick people into handing over login information. Some campaigns even involve “vishing,” or fraudulent phone calls made from spoofed 650-area-code numbers that resemble Google’s corporate lines.Phishing attacks increaseFor years, phishing has been one of the most effective tools hackers use to break into accounts. Google’s own data shows that phishing and vishing now account for roughly 37% of successful account takeovers across its services. With the data from Salesforce in hand, hackers can customize attacks that look far more authentic than the usual spam message.Imagine receiving a message that references your actual employer, colleagues, or recent communications. That level of detail raises the likelihood that you’ll trust the email, click a malicious link, or provide sensitive information. Once credentials are stolen, hackers can bypass additional protections and take over accounts—sometimes without the victim realizing it until significant damage has been done.Protect your email passwordLook, the most important rule here is that you should literally never give anyone your Gmail password, especially not someone who calls you and purports to be tech support. No matter how convincing it may seem, Google is never ever going to call you and ask you for your login information. Seriously, even if your son calls you to help you with tech support, you should not give him your Gmail password. Why? Well, because your email is basically the key to everything. In an interview I did last year, Cloudflare CTO John Graham-Cumming explained the problem.“If you do not have a good password on your email, the rest of your life is pretty much wide open, because every single service out there does reset password by sending you an email,” says Graham-Cumming. “So if I can compromise your email, I can compromise pretty much everything else you have.”Of course, even better than not giving out your password or clicking on links in fake tech-support emails is to stop using passwords altogether on your Gmail account. Google has been encouraging users for years to adopt passkeys instead.Switch to a passkeyI also spoke with Jeff Shiner last year about passkeys. As the CEO of 1Password, Shiner knows a few things about how people use passwords and why they should be switching to more secure ways of protecting their accounts.“A passkey, from an end user point of view, looks like the biometrics on your device,” says Shiner. “The cool thing about a passkey is that to the end user, you never have a password for that service. You just use your biometrics, and then a passkey is created. But, from a security point of view, it’s actually stronger than a password—even a strong password—because it can’t be phished.”In light of the breach, Google is encouraging Gmail users to change their password. In fact, you should change your password on a regular basis in the event it is ever compromised. But even better is to stop using passwords at all.Google is also pushing users toward stronger forms of authentication, including passkeys and app-based two-factor authentication (2FA). Unlike SMS codes, which can be intercepted or spoofed, authenticator apps and passkeys make it much harder for hackers to break into accounts even if they trick you into handing over a password.Google’s warning for usersGoogle’s guidance can be summed up in five steps:Reset your Gmail password regularly. Choose something unique and complex. Do not reuse passwords across accounts.Turn on two-factor authentication. Preferably, use an authenticator app or a passkey.Be skeptical of unsolicited messages. If you receive an email or call about account security, go directly to your Google account dashboard instead of clicking links or giving information over the phone.Use Google’s Security Checkup. The tool provides a quick overview of devices, apps, and settings tied to your account.Stay alert. If something feels off—strange login notifications, unexpected password reset requests, or unusual email activity—act quickly by securing your account. This episode underscores a broader truth about modern cybersecurity: Your accounts are only as safe as the weakest link in the chain. In this case, a breach at Salesforce created risk for Gmail users who had no direct relationship with the company. Even if Google’s own infrastructure remains secure, attackers can exploit data leaked from partners to undermine trust. With more than 2.5 billion Gmail users, it isn’t surprising that the world’s most popular email service would represent one of the most irresistible targets for hackers. Google’s latest warning is a reminder that in a world of constant breaches, vigilance is the only reliable defense.—Jason AtenThis article originally appeared on Fast Company’s sister publication, Inc.Inc. is the voice of the American entrepreneur. Want a Job? Ditch The Degree And Pick Up A Trade

Want a Job? Ditch The Degree And Pick Up A Trade

Want a Job? Ditch The Degree And Pick Up A Trade Authored by Roslyn Kunin via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),At over 7 percent, the unemployment rate in Canada is the highest it has been in a decade. For those under 25, it surpasses 14 percent. This is a real challenge for young people at the beginning of their working lives. The usual rules for getting started on a promising career no longer seem to apply.A welder works at a new condo building under construction in downtown Vancouver, in a file photo. The Canadian Press/Jonathan HaywardA university degree does not open doors the way it used to. There are many more university graduates than there are openings that require this qualification, and this does not even consider the mismatch that exists between the fields of the vacant positions and those of the graduates. The government has reacted to this sad situation by severely curtailing the number of temporary foreign workers (TFWs) allowed into Canada, presumably to save jobs for unemployed Canadians. It may not work. TFWs have been brought into Canada to fill jobs that, even in times of high unemployment, Canadians would not fill.Agricultural workers are an example. Youth (and older workers) are reluctant to take seasonal jobs that require long hours of demanding physical labour outdoors for the rates of pay that our food-producing sector can afford.TFWs also play a big role in entry-level service jobs, another area that is hard to fill with Canadians, especially if they have a university degree. Finding Canadians for these jobs is particularly acute in smaller centres and more remote locations. Not only are the jobs left unfilled by reducing TFWs unattractive to most Canadians, but many of the more attractive jobs are now, or soon will be, replaced by AI. Older workers will recall how swathes of lower-level white-collar jobs, such as secretaries and clerks, were eliminated by the introduction of computers. Now the work of higher-level positions can be done by AI. This includes junior executives, many mid-level management positions, and any position that has the word agent or broker in the title—areas where many aspiring leaders got their start. Now it is even harder to find any openings. There are still good jobs in desirable locations that pay well, where vacancies tend to exceed job seekers and which will be difficult or impossible for AI to replace. Most Canadians do not even consider these opportunities or are barely aware of them. The people needed now and into the future are trades workers, technicians, and technologists. Also needed are people who can provide a level of human contact that machines cannot offer in medicine and other areas.Use the phrase “hands-on” to determine which occupations are safe from an AI takeover. AI cannot fix a leaky pipe or wire a new building. It cannot deliver a baby.Nor can AI create and maintain the physical underpinnings of our 21st-century world. For this, technicians and technologists are required. Right now, there are openings for technicians and technologists in engineering at all levels and also in design, maintenance, inspection, project management, and other fields.Such in-demand occupations are regulated in B.C. by the Association of Technicians and Technologists of B.C. Current job openings are listed here. Institutes of technology and many universities and colleges offer the training that would lead to positions like these. Most courses take two years, less than a university degree. Many technician and technology positions offer upward mobility into areas like management or professional engineering. For those who prefer to deal with people, we will still need doctors, nurses, and other health professionals even as AI takes over the more tedious administrative aspects of that work. Counsellors and advisors will still be needed, but they will need to have both excellent people skills and detailed expertise in fields like financial planning, employment, and others. The more routine support and advice can and will be provided by AI.Even in hands-on occupations, practitioners will still have to keep up to date with AI and other developing systems. These current and future developments will be like the telephone—useful and necessary in whatever we do. But they will also free us from the tedious administrative requirements that until now were part of just about every job.We now find ourselves in an uncertain economy with high and rising unemployment. What used to be good ways to find a job or establish a career are no longer working, and AI-related elimination looms over many positions. But there are still many hands-on occupations that AI cannot fill and that offer good jobs now and excellent career prospects to those willing to consider them.Views expressed in this article are opinions of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times or ZeroHedge.
